Management

Harry Sim, CEO

Mr. Sim is the founder and CEO of Cypress Envirosystems, and is actively involved in developing products to improve existing facilities. He has a passion for low cost non-invasive retrofit solutions, and strongly believes that “green” should be both sustainable and profitable.

Prior to Cypress Envirosystems, Mr. Sim was a Vice-President at Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions, working in the Building Automation, Industrial Automation, and Wireless and Sensing businesses. During his 15 years with Honeywell, he has held executive positions in General Management, Strategy, Marketing, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Internet Startup founder. He has lived and worked extensively in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Prior to Honeywell, he was a Payload Director at NASA’s Mission Control Center in Houston for Space Shuttle mission STS-40.

Mr. Sim is Six-Sigma Black Belt certified, holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from Insead in France.

Marcus Kramer, VP Engineering

Mr. Kramer leads our overall R&D effort. He has over ten years of experience
within Cypress Semiconductor including managing the wireless and firmware teams, and serving as business unit director of the Human Interface Devices division. He is highly knowledgeable in applying semiconductor technologies to end applications.

Prior to Cypress, Mr. Kramer held engineering positions with Mitsubishi, HP and different startup companies focused on automation and automotive industries.

Mr. Kramer holds BS and ME degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.

Steve Kim, VP & General Manager, Industrial Division

Mr. Kim oversees the strategic direction and business operations for the industrial products business. In his six years with Cypress Semiconductor, he has served as Design Manager and Project Manager for Automotive Camera Systems and as Corporate Strategic Marketing Manager. He has extensive experience in opto-electronics and image analysis algorithms.

Prior to Cypress, Mr. Kim worked for Adaptive Optics Associates, a division of Metrologic, leading various industrial product engineering programs.

Mr. Kim holds BS degrees from MIT in both Electrical Engineering and Management Science.

Mark Holst, VP Quality

Mr. Holst leads our overall Quality effort. He has twenty-four years of experience in the semiconductor, consumer goods, environmental, chemical and petrochemical industries. He has a broad background in Quality, Reliability, Engineering, Operations, Business Management, and Technology. He most recently was VP of Operations at Provina, a start-up company, applying several Cypress products to an innovative space in consumer wine-making equipment.
Prior to Provina, Mr. Holst held positions at Applied Materials, Advanced Technology Materials Inc., Thermatrix, and Dow Chemical.
Mr. Holst holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

Joe Tallant, Director of Sales

Mr. Tallant heads up Sales and Business Development for Cypress Envirosystems. He comes with eight years of experience at Cypress Semiconductor. During his time at Cypress Semiconductor, he strategically led White Goods & Lighting Control vertical markets. He was also a Regional Sales Manager and the Global Account Manager for GE and Alcatel-Lucent.

Mr. Tallant holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.


David K. Roberts, VP Marketing

Mr. Roberts is the Marketing leader for Cypress Envirosystems.  He has worked in energy for over 10 years with the last five focused on energy efficiency, auto-demand response and their enabling technologies.

Before coming to Cypress, Mr. Roberts worked as a strategy consultant for Accenture where he helped develop California’s Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategy, assisted utilities in their selection of smart meter/AMI technologies and crafted approaches for enabling smart homes. He also worked for Shell Oil and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Kazakhstan.

Mr. Roberts holds a BS from Michigan State University and an MBA from Dartmouth College.


John Davis, VP Field Operations & Customer Service

John Davis oversees our field operations and service team.

With over twenty-five years of experience in the Facility Management and Energy Efficiency fields, John has expertise in the management, design, and implementation of major facility automation and energy efficiency projects.  His commitment is to ensure the project specification and implementation delivers the desired functionality, within budget, on schedule and to the high quality standards of Cypress Envirosystems.

Prior to Cypress, John held senior positions at EnerNOC (Director of Technical Deployment), WebGen Systems (Director of Operations), Emerson Electric (Commercial Engineering Manager), ADI Integrated Technologies (CTO) and Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Facilities Manager).

John holds a AS in Electronics and a Certified Energy Managers (CEM) accreditation.
